In recent years, our revenues that came from life science research market have been growing swiftly. These sales came principally from equipment and reagent business with both genomics and proteomics research labs. Further analysis shows that another steadily growing market in Taiwan is the genotyping, SNP, and pathogen detection research based on oligonucleotides-related technologies. With the accumulated specialties and knowledge know-how, Prisma is confident to further achieve tremendous success in this market.

Prisma’s second product category focuses on "In Vitro Diagnostics Development & Production" (IVD) market, to which a complete solution for the customers from R & D to scale-up production is provided. The rationale to identify IVD industry as a major customer market is based on two explicit facts. First of all, most of the academic achievements in either genomics or proteomics researches are usually developed and commercialized initially in the forms of IVD products. Secondly, as a result of the long-term national promotion effort by the State to develop biotechnology industry, the manufacturing capability and business infrastructure in IVD industry has become relatively mature in Taiwan.

On top of that, during the past decades, Taiwan has achieved a considerable amount of unique accomplishments resulting from various indigenous, mission-oriented research projects. From our review, it is widely believed that many of these findings are very attractive to both research and clinical markets worldwide.
